Wednesday, August 30 to Thursday, August 31

Join us for a two-day excursion, beginning with the cuisine of Blaine Wetzel at the world-famous Willows Inn. Over dinner, share stories of the region with friends and the team at Willows. Wake up Thursday morning to a handcrafted farm breakfast, personally cooked for you on site before a morning of reef netting with Riley Starks, owner of the farm, a renowned local fisherman and connoisseur of fine food. After moving to Lummi Island in 1992, he bought reef net gear and helped start Lummi Island Wild. In addition to Nettles Farm, he also started the modern Willows Inn.

While taking an active role in the farm-to-table movement, he constantly worked to weave sustainable fishery into the Willows Inn, taking it all the way to Italy for the 2004 first Slow Food Terra Madre. He now works full-time marketing for Lummi Island Wild Co-op, which is truly dear to his heart.
