SEATTLE – (June 18, 2012) - In celebration of Washington state heirloom tomatoes, the quintessentially northwest Cedarbrook Lodge announces the return of TomatoFare West. The third-annual one-day festival of Washington-grown heirloom tomatoes will be held on Sunday, September 9 from 1 to 5 p.m.

TomatoFare showcases the abundant harvest of heirloom tomatoes grown in the Pacific Northwest and offers guests the opportunity to celebrate the late-summer harvest and sample unique tomatoes varieties. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to taste tomato-inspired culinary creations from local chefs, which in previous years have included Jason Wilson of Crush in Seattle, Johnathan Sundstrom of Lark in Seattle, and Bobby Moore of Barking Frog in Woodinville, Wash.

“TomatoFare is a wonderful event that brings together our culinary community of chefs, farmers, gardeners and individuals who want to share conversation about and appreciation for the delicate, rare and at-risk heirloom tomato varieties,” said Roy Breiman, culinary director at Cedarbrook Lodge. “With the increasing popularity of heirloom tomatoes, we’re very fortunate in the Pacific Northwest to have great access to these incredible fruits.”

In addition to heirloom tomato-inspired dishes from the chefs, sample tastings from local wineries and microbreweries will be available for guests to enjoy while listening to live musical entertainment. A variety of heirloom yellow, red and green TomatoFare-inspired Bloody Marys will also be available from Copperleaf Bar.

Advance tickets for TomatoFare West are available for $25 online at Brown Paper Tickets or at the door on the day of the event for $35 cash only.
