Copperleaf Restaurant executive chef brings home
Lamb Jam Masters “People’s Choice” award

SEATTLE – (September 30, 2011) - Showcasing culinary talent and passion that Seattleites know and love,Copperleaf Restaurant at Cedarbrook Lodge Executive Chef Mark Bodinet won the hearts and votes of attendees at Lamb Jam Masters in New York on September 25th, bringing home the “People’s Choice” award for his Lamb Shoulder Confit dish.

“It is such an honor to be recognized among other well-respected chefs,” said Bodinet. “The opportunity to represent Seattle is unforgettable and I hope to be back next year.”

The young chef’s journey to the national Lamb Jam Masters began in 2010 at the Seattle Lamb Jam after winning Best Lamb Shoulder, Best Lamb/Wine Pairing and Best of Show. In New York, Bodinet competed against four other chefs who won Lamb Jam events in San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Boston.

“We are so proud of Mark’s accomplishments,” said Roy Breiman, culinary director of Cedarbrook Lodge. “It’s a privilege to work with such a talented, dedicated and accomplished chef.”

At his intimate 30-seat farm-to-table restaurant in Seattle, Bodinet, along with Culinary Director Roy Breiman, showcases culinary excellence with a focus and commitment to using local ingredients, most sourced from within 100 miles of the restaurant. Copperleaf was named a 2011 Top 10 New Restaurant by Gayot, as well as Best New Restaurant to open in 2010 by Seattle Magazine readers.

Bodinet’s previous experience includes positions at the world-renowned French Laundry Restaurant, and Opus at the Winnetu Inn & Resort in Martha’s Vineyard. Bodinet plans to compete again at the 2011 Seattle Lamb Jam on October 23rd at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center.
