SEATTLE – (May 26, 2010) - Cedarbrook Lodge, a quintessentially Northwest hotel located on 18 acres of lush restored wetlands in Seattle, is packing the ultimate picnic for guests to enjoy this summer. The gourmet picnic baskets, prepared by Copperleaf Restaurant’s Executive Chef Mark Bodinet, are part of Cedarbrook’s new “Let’s Have a Picnic” package, available from June 21 to Sept. 7, 2010.

Cedarbrook Lodge, a tranquil retreat located close to downtown Seattle, yet far from the busyness and congestion of the city, is the perfect solution for people who want a relaxing getaway. Situated on 18 acres of lush restored wetlands and surrounded by meticulously maintained lawn and garden areas, Cedarbrook encourages guests to explore the property for the perfect picnic spot. Guests can also stroll along the paved walkways, visit the new Chef’s garden or stop to bird watch.

Prepared from the best local, natural and organic ingredients, Chef Mark’s picnic baskets include artisan cheeses and Salumi charcuterie; Wild Wheat Bakery rolls and butter; grilled Nash Family Farm chicken sandwiches with basil pesto, Portobello mushrooms and provolone cheese; Astoria Bay smoked salmon salad with petit lettuce, grilled scallions, roasted peppers and balsamic vinaigrette; seasonal fruit with homemade granola and spearmint; cookies and brownies; and choice of beverages. The picnic packaging and utensils are all-natural, compostable, eco-friendly and made from sugarcane-based materials, biodegradable plant-based biopolymer resins or corn-based Polylactic Acid (PLA).

The “Let’s Have a Picnic” package includes the gourmet picnic and an overnight stay in one of Cedarbrook’s cozy guestrooms, each with signature Cedarbrook amenities including floor-to-ceiling working windows with views of the property, Green Natura bath products, terry-lined spa robes, coffee maker, mini-refrigerator, flat screen cable TV, free WiFi Internet access and complimentary USA Today.
